Quinlan ISD Adjusts School Hours

Image
The Quinlan Independent School District announced new, adjusted school hours for the 2021-22 school year July 16. Each school will open their doors at 7:15 every morning Monday through Thursday, as Quinlan ISD is a four days a week school district.     Cannon Elementary School, Butler Intermediate School, and Thompson Middle School hours will be 7:40 a.m. to 4 p.m., while Ford High School hours will be 7:40 a.m. to 4:05 p.m. PK3 Students will have two separate time intervals: the first running from 7:40 to 11:40 a.m. and the second running from 12 to 4 p.m. While these hours seem longer, they are the same amount of hours each student has to be in school during a week.      While some parents seem to like the idea of four days a week school, some have been critical of the long hours. Marissa Graves, who has a child enrolled at Cannon Elementary, has been open about her concern. "7:40 a.m. to 4 p.m. seems to make for such a long day," Gra...
