Quinlan Restaurant to host Potluck Dinner and Auction Fundraiser

Mama's Family Café in Quinlan will be hosting a potluck dinner and auction August 21. The dinner starts at 4 p.m., with the auction starting at 5 p.m. The event will benefit the "Hearts for Amanda" fundraiser. The café invites people to bring their own side dishes and desserts. The event will also feature live music and the restaurant recommends that people bring their own lawn chairs.

"Hearts for Amanda" is a fundraiser dedicated to Amanda Stringer, a Quinlan resident who is battling Stage IV endometrial cancer. Stringer's mother, Tammy White, says that Stringer does not have much time left. "The doctor's prognosis is that she has six months to one year left," White said. White also says that the fundraiser will help boost Stringer's morale and help them with trips to Parkland Memorial Hospital for doctor visits.

If unable to attend the event, Mama's Family Café is still accepting donations for the fundraiser. The café invites the residents of Quinlan to come together as a community and celebrate Stringer. Contact Hearts for Amanda for more information about the event.
